Dynamics 365 - Object Expected ?

2 months ago, my company decided to upgrade the Dynamics CRM 2016 into Dynamics 365. While doing the testing, users reported when a form is opening , system throw them an exception "Object Expected".

We spent some time to do some debugging, we were scratching our head because everything is working perfectly in our side.

But after some brainstorming, finally we found the reason.

Root Cause

Still remember Microsoft introduced the WEB API in Dynamics CRM 2016 ?

Yeah, indeed some of our team members are using it to perform CRUD operations.

The reason we hit this error  because The WEB API version is changed.

Solution

Please remember to update your WEB API from V8.1 to V8.2 if recently you upgraded the environment from CRM 2016 to Dynamics 365.

Where can i see the WEB API ?

Setting > Customization > Developer Resources
